TrafficWave is, again, not quite a traffic exchange. Rather, it’s a valuable tool to use with the traffic you’ve already attained. It’s a fairly sophisticated autoresponder for email lists, with a 30-day trial and a suite of tools designed to help you put together the best autoresponses available. Use it in conjunction with any of your affiliate or referral programs for a sizable benefit.
When the world is crashing around you, trust the data. Dive into Google Analytics and try to pinpoint where things went south. Think back on marketing tactics you recently pushed live and find the correlation. This should lead you to an internal audit, where you may discover an internal tool is broken or an external force is impacting your site. - Kirk Deis, Treehouse 51
Organic traffic is the traffic you get when people follow links from a search engine results page and land on your site. Organic traffic contrasts with referral traffic which comes from links on other sites, and paid traffic, which is traffic resulting from ads. You can boost organic traffic by using content marketing, and by optimizing that content with SEO. Well-optimized content is more likely to get a high search ranking, and attract more clicks and traffic.

When it comes to traffic for sales or leads it varies from industry to industry and country to country, on the top of that it requires other complex process that are suitable only for the advanced paid traffic masters. In this article I will be discussing traffic for branding and improving rank on several web metrics which are responsible for judging the quality of a website such as Alexa rank, Similarweb Rank, Domain Rating, WOT Rank and so on.
Influencers: Government Contracting Officers, Other GovCon (Government Contracting) consultants, Sellers of professional services for small businesses (certain CPAs, bonding companies, financial institutions, contract attorneys), large contracting firms (who need to hire small business subcontractors), Union/trade organizations, Construction and Engineering trade publications
So many great tips! There are a couple of things I’ve implemented recently to try and boost traffic. One is to make a pdf version of my post that people can download. It’s a great way to build a list:) Another way is to make a podcast out of my post. I can then take a snippet of it and place it on my Facebook page as well as syndicate it. As far as video I’ve started to create a video with just a few key points from the post. The suggestion about going back to past articles is a tip I am definitely going to use especially since long-form content is so important. Thanks!
Great article as always. My wife is about to start a business about teaching (mainly) Mums how to film and edit little movies of their loved ones for posterity (www.lovethelittlethings.com launching soon). We have always struggled with thinking of and targeting relevant keywords because keywords like ‘videography’ and ‘family movies’ don’t really some up what she is about. Your article ties in with other learnings we have come across where we obviously need to reach out to right people and get them to share to get her product out there because purely focusing on keywords I don’t think will get us anywhere.
The best websites have some common elements that have been proven to increase traffic (and sales): they use search engines to their advantage by crafting site content to conform to search engine optimization (SEO) rules, they use targeted search and email marketing to find customers, and they continue to attract customers with strong, interesting content.
The third criterion is derived from the behavior of the users of the site, which becomes more complex as the user rates more and more websites. Until you have tried StumbleUpon and experienced what the website has to offer, it is hard to figure out what it does and what are its benefits. Suffice it to say that being an active member of StumbleUpon may gain you more targeted traffic to your website.
Many small businesses credit SEM for attracting new customers. Depending on the competition in your business, relying on unpaid, organic Web traffic via SEO may leave your business far back in the rankings. By paying for SEM, you have more control over the specific keywords that will promote you, as well as where you will appear on the search results page.
Getting systematic with traffic generation techniques is an important thing to do for regularizing the flow. Most bloggers will get enthusiastic about one strategy that is suggested by their favorite blogger and try that out. But they don’t follow that up. They forget about that strategy all together and move on to another method, without actually tracking what results that particular technique gives out. Consistency, patience and persistence matter a lot when it comes to traffic generation.
Not sure exactly why, perhaps I used a number too big and since my page is about classifieds, it probably seemed too much to browse through 1500 ads, I assume? Somewhat like you would post 800 tips for better ranking? Don’t know, will try to change things a bit and see how it goes, but you really gave me some new suggestions to go for with this article. Thanks again 🙂
Slide presentation, though this seems traditional way, a presentation with attractive slides can bring more traffic and leads to your business. If you’re more concerned about leads than traffic, start creating a slide or hire a designer. I recommend Slideshare.net to share your slides, as this can bring more exposure to your slides. You can check out the Harsh’s profile on Slideshare, where he utilized his webpage to PDF technique, to create slides for SlideShare.
Another great way to get traffic is to join the social sites. They are popping up at an ever-increasing rate. By socializing with others on the net through these sites, everything you join or participate in gives you more people to see your site. And, if you're selling stuff from your site, you'll want to go to the places (interest groups) on the social site where people are interested in what you're selling.
Wow, it was interesting reading this post. To hear all the different opinions made me realize that there are so many opportunities to generate traffic. I have been using Twitter and SEO to promote my blog posts and it has worked well for me. After reading this, I will bookmark this page and study some of these other options carefully. Thanks for sharing
Social-If you have identified where your target spends their time online go there. One of my personal quotes is “Meet Your Clients on Their Terms, Where They Are”. Remember that you are in their space so act accordingly. If you jump on any social platform and sell, sell, sell you will not do well at all. Provide value, be personable and engage with others. It’s 80% give and 20% take on social.
Figures on a free website traffic checker are never completely accurate – tests have shown there may be considerable deviations. Therefore, you should always consider the results as estimates and guidelines. The tools are more suitable for a quick traffic comparison of different websites than for determining precise key figures. Important: to ensure that the comparison is also meaningful, it is best to always use the same tool – otherwise the results can be heavily falsified.
