Think interviews are only for the big leaguers? You’d be amazed how many people will be willing to talk to you if you just ask them. Send out emails requesting an interview to thought leaders in your industry, and publish the interviews on your blog. Not only will the name recognition boost your credibility and increase traffic to your website, the interviewee will probably share the content too, further expanding its reach.

I don’t think I have ever seen or heard this explained in a more easy to read and understand format. If more bloggers or website owners understood this (and believed it because it’s the truth) a lot more would have success in the online space. Most people have their own preconceived ideas and are pretty tough to move off of them and then wonder why they never find real success online.
Wow, it was interesting reading this post. To hear all the different opinions made me realize that there are so many opportunities to generate traffic. I have been using Twitter and SEO to promote my blog posts and it has worked well for me. After reading this, I will bookmark this page and study some of these other options carefully. The largest search engines, Google, Bing and Yahoo, each have fairly simple programs to get started. You determine the key words or search phrase as well as the amount you are willing to spend (per click and/or per day). Most of them offer simple programs that require you to fill out a form and put a certain amount of money down as credit; you can also use a credit card to pay as you go. People love to learn, and webinars are an excellent way to impart your wisdom to your eagerly waiting audience. I am going to start by assuming you have identified who your target is. If you have done that homework (which most small businesses miss) then kudos to you. I will give you 4 pointers to help you drive targeted traffic. I will also forewarn you that these will cost you a lot of time and possibly a lot of money so I would also advise you to speak to someone who does these things professionally.

Quick question: I am beyond passionate about a niche (UFOs, extraterrestrials, free energy) and know in my bones that an authority site is a long term opportunity. The problem today is that not many products are attached to this niche and so it becomes a subscriber / info product play. However, after 25+ years as an entrepreneur with a financial background and marketing MBA, am I Internet naive to believe that my passion and creativity will win profitability in the end?
