Embed Social sharing buttons in your website – Facebook, Twitter and Google+ (yes Google+ is important) as a minimum. You may choose to add other social networks which are relevant for your specific website niche. Avoid using a 100,000 social share buttons because that increases page load time, make for a horrible user experience and will decrease instead of increase your traffic including your social media traffic. 
SEO-It might seem like I am saying this because that’s what I do but it’s a proven tactic for long term success. If you expect targeted traffic tomorrow it’s not going to happen with SEO but if you want long term success you need to do this. Part of SEO is content. If you create content that is useful or of value to your target, and share this content, then it will drive targeted traffic (and don’t forget the technical parts of SEO).

There were some great tips in this article. I notice that many people make the mistake of making too many distracting images in the header and the sidebar which can quickly turn people off content. I particularly dislike google ads anchored in the centre of a piece of text. I understand that people want to make a revenue for ads but there are right ways and wrong ways of going about this. Quick question: I am beyond passionate about a niche (UFOs, extraterrestrials, free energy) and know in my bones that an authority site is a long term opportunity. The problem today is that not many products are attached to this niche and so it becomes a subscriber / info product play.
