If you know how to find and target the right users, however, you may be able to build a huge fan following and consistently drive targeted traffic to your website from it. Natural Area Rugs is a pretty good example of what we are talking about, as it managed to build a Shralpin.com with a pretty impressive engagement rate, which is definitely quite an achievement given it’s an e-commerce business (which can probably be a huge challenge to promote on social media).
If you haven’t used software like BuzzSumo to check out what your competitors are up to, you’re at a huge disadvantage. These services aggregate the social performance of specific sites and content to provide you with an at-a-glance view of what topics are resonating with readers and, most importantly, making the rounds on social media. Find out what people are reading (and talking about), and emulate that kind of content to bring traffic to your website.
I don’t think I have ever seen or heard this explained in a more easy to read and understand format. If more bloggers or website owners understood this (and believed it because it’s the truth) a lot more would have success in the online space. Most people have their own preconceived ideas and are pretty tough to move off of them and then wonder why they never find real success online.
